About Kia
Kia is an automotive manufacturer extending its mobility portfolio into purpose-built vehicles, autonomous services and remote-driving integration. The PV5 platform supports passenger, cargo and service configurations intended for fleet and commercial use.
Its robotics exposure comes through vehicle automation and partnerships around mobility operations. Vehicle production, autonomous-driving capability and service deployment follow separate product and regulatory programmes. PBV engineering combines modular bodies, fleet connectivity and vehicle software for repeated commercial routes.

- 2026-10-20 - Partnership - Hyundai and partners plan two-truck autonomous logistics trial
Two Xcient test vehicles, one hydrogen-electric and one conventional, are scheduled to be provided in early 2027. Mars Auto and RideFlux will integrate autonomous-driving systems, with Mobis and Glovis supporting logistics-route validation. Planned routes total about 500 km across mixed urban/highway and highway settings; this is route length, not daily autonomous mileage.

42dot consolidated ADAS and language-model development on VAST AI OS with a Hopper-based NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD. VAST reports 2:1 data reduction on sensor and video data in the operating development environment. S3 and NFS access let simulation, training and validation share a namespace without additional data copies.
Source - 2026-07-23 - Partnership - Kia, KT and SUM target PV5 remote-driving service launch
Kia is responsible for vehicle development and integration, KT for communications infrastructure and SUM for the remote-driving system. The initial applications are planned for vehicle-sharing and mobile public-service use cases. The partners target commercial service launch before the end of 2026, beginning with selected international markets.
