Merlin receives New Zealand Part 146 design-organization certificate
New Zealand’s aviation regulator designated Merlin a Part 146 Aircraft Design Organization, allowing qualified company engineers to approve certain aircraft design changes.

Evidence notes
- The approval internalizes design-signoff work that previously had to pass through outside design organizations.
- The certificate is organizational and is not limited to one aircraft or programme.
- Delegated scope must still be agreed with the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand for each certification project.
Company context
Merlin develops the Merlin Pilot aircraft-autonomy system, combining flight-control computers, deterministic safety-critical software and automated air-traffic communication for civil and military aircraft.
