Garmin was founded in 1989 and is legally domiciled in Switzerland, with its principal operational headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. The public company serves consumer, marine, automotive and aviation markets. Garmin Aviation supplies integrated flight decks, displays, navigation, communication, surveillance and automatic-flight-control equipment.

The aviation business supplies certified hardware and software to aircraft manufacturers rather than building autonomous aircraft itself. Archer selected the G3000 integrated flight deck for Midnight, and Eve named Garmin within its eVTOL avionics supply chain. Those contracts establish a direct enabling role in advanced air mobility, while certification responsibility and vehicle-level autonomy remain with the aircraft OEM and programme partners. Garmin does not separately disclose revenue attributable to eVTOL programmes.

The compact, configurable system combines large-format displays and pilot controls with an established certification pedigree. Archer said the selection advanced its strategy of sourcing components already used on certified aircraft; at announcement it had selected suppliers for more than 64% of Midnight's bill of materials.

    Garmin’s long-term agreement covers a tailored G3000 integrated flight deck for Joby’s all-electric air taxi. The modular flight deck combines high-resolution displays, navigation, communications and flight-sensor functions with tight mission-computer integration and an upgradeable architecture. At the announcement, Joby described a piloted aircraft for four passengers with a stated range of up to 150 miles and cruise speed of 200 mph.
