EGS Australia christens Fremantle 02 survey vessel
EGS Australia christened Fremantle 02, its second optionally crewed survey vessel using Greenroom Robotics GAMA autonomy, ahead of a maiden Kimberley hydrographic mission.
Why it matters
A second GAMA-equipped vessel creates the basis for a two-vessel optionally crewed survey fleet, while the Kimberley work and projected mission-time gains remain prospective at the christening date.

Evidence notes
- The maiden mission is planned under the Royal Australian Navy HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program and had not begun at publication.
- Fremantle 01 previously operated about 90% of its missions autonomously; EGS reported a 94% diesel reduction and about 135 tonnes of avoided emissions during one 42-day mission.
- Operating Fremantle 01 and 02 together is intended to shorten survey missions without increasing crew at sea; that fleet benefit was presented as an operating expectation.
