About Rio Tinto

Rio Tinto operates a dual-listed mining group with iron ore, aluminium, copper and other mineral businesses. Automation is embedded in its operating system across haulage, rail and laboratory workflows, with autonomous trucks working in the Pilbara and AutoHaul moving ore across the company’s heavy-haul rail network.

The group reports more than 130 autonomous trucks, while AutoHaul operates across roughly 1,700 kilometres of track with around 200 locomotives. The Gudai-Darri mine laboratory adds nine robots for sample preparation and analysis. Rio Tinto’s contracted IOC pellet supply to Stegra remains a materials agreement outside the active robotics graph.
