About
About Rosota
Rosota develops surgical-robotics technology around the collection and modelling of procedural data. The company is building devices that capture instrument movement, visual information and operating context during clinical workflows, creating datasets for training surgical AI systems. Its work originates from research associated with Seoul National University Hospital.
The longer-term programme combines data acquisition, model development and robotic assistance for surgery. Rosota’s initial financing is supporting prototype hardware, AI research, recruitment and expansion of clinical collaborations. The company remains at an early research and product-development stage and has not disclosed a commercially available surgical platform.

- 2026-10-20 - Demonstration - Rosota reports preclinical AI-guided surgical-motion tests
Training used 849 surgical demonstration datasets captured with sensor-equipped laparoscopic instruments. The demonstrations combine video with motion and instrument-state information; evaluation used separate animal subjects. Reported motions include approach, grasping and retraction, and resection; the experiment does not establish fully autonomous surgery.

SurgiLogger attaches sensors to existing laparoscopic instruments to capture pose, insertion depth, gripper state and force alongside video. The system is under development, with instrument compatibility, sterilisation and usability being validated. The programme aims to produce structured surgical data for robot learning and future assisted or autonomous surgical systems.
