Palladyne AI Corp.
About
About Palladyne AI Corp.
Palladyne AI develops software that processes sensor information and executes robot actions locally. Its decentralised architecture is designed for machines to make immediate decisions onboard and coordinate directly with other systems, reducing dependence on a continuous cloud connection for physical control.
The business applies that architecture in two areas. Its industrial software is intended to add adaptable behaviour to existing robots, while its aerospace and defence activities combine autonomy with hardware, edge computing and manufacturing services. Palladyne’s products therefore span software integration and more complete systems, with the same emphasis on perception and action at the machine. Customers select the software or equipment around the platform and mission being developed.

Events
- 2026-10-07 - Partnership - Palladyne AI, Federal and Mossberg begin SwarmShot counter-drone development
Gremlin-X is the initial aircraft platform; an integration kit for compatible third-party drones is planned after qualification. Palladyne contributes IntelliSwarm, which combines BRAIN avionics and SwarmOS software, while Federal and Mossberg develop the ammunition and weapon module. The programme includes integration and safety testing before operational use; development schedules and customer commitments have not been announced.
Source - 2026-10-06 - Award - Palladyne AI BRAIN reaches Army xTech Apex Intercept finals
Finals demonstrations to Army and defense end users are expected in October or November 2026. BRAIN combines guidance, navigation and control with onboard autonomy and real-time mission adaptation at the tactical edge. Previously announced BRAIN orders totaled $2.6 million, including $2.3 million supporting a kinetic counter-drone interceptor.
Source - 2026-09-08 - Partnership - Palladyne AI and FANUC collaborate on adaptive industrial robotics
The work covers AI-driven motion planning, adaptive behavior, teleoperation and human-assisted learning. The partners will use simulation and model training before jointly validating customer use cases. No financial terms, launch customer or completed commercial deployment was disclosed.
Source - 2026-08-26 - Partnership - Palladyne AI and NORDA plan SwarmOS–Underdog integration
SwarmOS would provide distributed multi-vehicle perception, target assignment and coordination. Underdog would handle GNSS-denied terminal pursuit and guidance after target handoff. The companies plan integration on one or more unmanned platforms and a joint demonstration, subject to necessary government approvals.
Source - 2026-08-19 - Partnership - Palladyne AI and Orkid Tech integrate collaborative autonomy into fixed-wing VTOL UAVs
Palladyne describes the agreement as its first fixed-wing UAV partnership and plans integrated systems for U.S. defense and industrial markets. The integration is intended to provide adaptive autonomous and multi-aircraft swarm operation rather than waypoint-only automated flight. Orkid said the companies had completed a joint field exercise in which soldiers operated SwarmOS with the platform.
Source - 2026-08-06 - Market Signal - Palladyne AI reports $5.8 million Q2 revenue and $24.6 million backlog
Second-quarter revenue reached $5.8 million, up 470% year on year and 63% sequentially. Backlog was $24.6 million at June 30 after approximately $13 million of new contract awards during the quarter, net of recognised revenue. The company maintained full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $24 million to $27 million and expects sequential growth in the third quarter.

The work connects autonomous systems across space, air, maritime and land domains for coordinated ISR operations. The execution follows a previously announced AFRL HANGTIME award and moves the program into contracted delivery.
Source - 2026-05-05 - Deployment - Palladyne AI starts active deployment of Palladyne IQ 2.0 with first commercial customer
Palladyne AI said it initiated active deployment of Palladyne IQ 2.0 with its first commercial customer. The company said the initial robot systems integration was underway during the first quarter of 2026. The update moves Palladyne IQ from commercial availability toward customer deployment evidence.
Source - 2026-01-12 - Product Launch - Palladyne AI announces commercial availability of Palladyne IQ 2.0
Palladyne AI completed and made commercially available Palladyne IQ 2.0 for industrial robots. The software is positioned as a hardware-agnostic autonomy layer for factories, depots and logistics environments. The launch gives Palladyne AI a concrete commercial autonomy-software marker beyond development-stage positioning.

Notes
Profile notes
- Palladyne AI emerged from Sarcos's abandoned hardware strategy
reviewed 2026-07-18 - Palladyne AI is the same public company that previously operated as Sarcos Technology and Robotics. After years developing exoskeletons and other robotic hardware, Sarcos suspended further hardware commercialisation in November 2023 and concentrated its resources on autonomy software; its later filing acknowledged that the hardware products had not commercialised successfully.
