About
About AKA Robotics
Shenzhen-based AKA Robotics develops robotic systems for high-access industrial maintenance, including magnetic wall-climbing platforms for cleaning, blasting and painting steel surfaces. The company addresses ship hulls, storage tanks and other large structures where manual access is difficult.
In September 2026 AKA reported delivery of its WallHiker W-06 surface-preparation robot and TSW-02 painting robot to an offshore drilling vessel in the Gulf of Guinea, together with operator training. The project extends robotic maintenance to an offshore operating setting without taking the vessel into dry dock. The source did not give an exact delivery day or a fleet count.

AKA also trained vessel personnel to operate both robot systems on site. The robots support rust removal and coating work on the vessel without requiring a dry-dock visit. The W-06 combines ultra-high-pressure water jetting with wastewater recovery; the TSW-02 coating robot adjusts spraying parameters for complex hull surfaces.

The system replaces open-air grit blasting with an abrasive-free water process intended to reduce dust. AKA states that the W-06 handles hull curvature down to a 0.5-metre radius and obstacles up to 25 millimetres. The project extended deployments beyond Southeast Asia into the Persian Gulf region.
