About eCential Robotics

eCential Robotics builds its Op.n platform around a core station that connects to compatible intraoperative 3D C-arms. Surgeons use a touchscreen to plan implant positions and navigate tracked instruments; pre-calibrated, single-use instruments and tracking arrays provide real-time localisation within the surgical images.

A separate mobile station carries the seven-axis robotic arm. The surgeon can handle it collaboratively from the sterile area before it aligns with a planned trajectory, with motion compensation intended to maintain that alignment. This modular arrangement supports navigation and robotic guidance within an implant-agnostic architecture. Technology companies and implant manufacturers can develop applications around the platform, extending the company's hardware and software through procedure-specific partnerships.

  • 2026-08-26 - Regulatory - eCential Op.n adds FDA-cleared PERLA TL robotic workflow

FDA submission K261205 was cleared on July 29, 2026 and covers open, minimally invasive and percutaneous pedicle-screw procedures. The robotic reusable instruments couple Spineart PERLA TL screwdrivers and taps to a robotic adaptor for use in navigation or robotic-guidance mode. The cleared workflow is limited to Spineart implants included in the Perla by Spineart software and uses eCential’s separately cleared Op.n platform.
