About FBR
FBR's Hadrian X converts a digital building model into block walls using a truck-mounted 32-metre telescopic boom. Blocks are cut when required, coated with fast-curing construction adhesive and conveyed to the placement head, allowing the machine to build from common masonry units as large as 600 by 400 by 300 millimetres.
Dynamic Stabilisation Technology measures boom movement and external disturbance in real time, compensating at the end effector so placement remains accurate outdoors. Hadrian X has demonstrated effective rates above 300 blocks or roughly 70 square metres of wall per hour, including a 751-block factory acceptance structure built at 330 blocks per hour. FBR operates and commercialises the system as a construction service as well as developing related stabilised long-reach machines.
