About Hertz Global Holdings
Hertz Global Holdings is a vehicle-rental and mobility group headquartered in Estero, Florida. Its businesses include the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty rental brands, vehicle sales and fleet services. Its robotics-relevant activity centres on Oro Mobility, the fleet platform established to support rideshare rentals, driver-led fleet management and autonomous vehicle fleet management. Oro connects vehicle ownership and servicing with technology providers and ride-demand platforms, drawing on Hertz’s maintenance, logistics and asset-management operations.
An April 2026 agreement with Uber set out fleet services for both driver-led operations and planned autonomous robotaxi programmes. The autonomous work covers charging, maintenance, repairs, cleaning and depot staffing for Lucid vehicles equipped with Nuro technology. In October 2026, outside investors acquired an economic minority in Oro while sharing voting control; Hertz retained majority economic ownership and remained its fleet and corporate-services partner. This places Hertz in the operating infrastructure around autonomous vehicles alongside its wider rental business.
