About
About IDS Imaging
IDS Imaging develops industrial 2D, AI and Ensenso stereo 3D cameras with SDK and application software. IDS develops USB and GigE industrial cameras, edge-AI devices and the Ensenso stereo-vision family. Hardware is paired with uEye software, IDS NXT tools and vision apps for inspection, automation and robotics; official company material reports about 1.9 million cameras in use and more than 11,000 customers.
Its current documentation covers product selection, system integration and support for vision developers, with applications and configuration limits tied to the relevant hardware or software family.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-03-11 - Partnership - IDS and Prophesee expand event-based industrial vision collaboration
IDS and Prophesee expanded their collaboration around event-based industrial vision. The initiative combines conventional imaging with event-based sensing for high-speed machine-vision applications. The collaboration supports robotics, industrial inspection and automation workflows that need fast visual sensing.
Source - 2025-02-26 - Product Launch - IDS launches uEye EVS event-based industrial camera line
IDS announced the uEye EVS camera line on February 26, 2025. The launch introduced event-based industrial cameras that transmit brightness-change events instead of full conventional frames. The first uEye XCP-E family puts event-based sensing into a compact industrial camera format.
Source - 2024-07-15 - Deployment - AWL deploys Ensenso X36 vision in RODE depalletizer
RODE uses an IDS Ensenso X36 3D stereo camera to capture mixed pallet loads and estimate object pose for robotic gripping. The cell combines vision-guided picking with AWL robot integration for automated depalletising of variable cartons. The deployment illustrates AWL’s system-integration role across perception, gripping, robot control and downstream material flow.
Source - 2019-04-14 - Capability - Pose Automation integrates IDS 3D camera into packing cell
The robot cell uses an Ensenso N35 3D camera with GigE and Power over Ethernet. The camera supplies point clouds for catheter pose calculation and robot gripping. The system handles multiple catheter designs and feeds a packaging machine.
