Notes

Profile notes

  • iRobot continued through bankruptcy under the contract manufacturer that already built Roombas

reviewed 2026-07-18 - After its proposed Amazon acquisition ended in 2024, iRobot restructured and later entered a prepackaged Chapter 11 process in December 2025. The court-supervised plan transferred the company to Picea, its primary contract manufacturer and a creditor, rather than liquidating the Roomba business.

  • iRobot’s military robots left the consumer company before becoming Teledyne FLIR products

reviewed 2026-07-20 - iRobot sold its Defense & Security business in 2016, creating Endeavor Robotics as a separate company. FLIR acquired Endeavor in 2019, and Teledyne later acquired FLIR. PackBot, SUGV and related military systems therefore did not remain with the Roomba company through its later bankruptcy; their operating and support lineage runs through Endeavor to Teledyne FLIR.
