About
About Katalyst Space
Katalyst Space develops autonomous robotic spacecraft for dynamic in-space operations. Its platforms combine mobility, rendezvous, docking and robotic manipulation for servicing, payload installation and assembly missions.
NEXUS is the company’s multi-mission robotic spacecraft. Under the ASGARD programme it is planned to assemble modular power-beaming hardware in low Earth orbit; that mission is a contracted future demonstration, not a completed orbital operation.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-09-21 - Contract Award - Katalyst Space selected for OECIF ASGARD robotic assembly programme
NEXUS is planned to launch with modular tiles under development by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and assemble them using robotic arms. The assembled system is intended to collect solar energy, convert it to microwave energy and transmit power to Earth. Contract value was not disclosed, and the orbital assembly remains a future demonstration rather than a completed operation.

Geodesic Capital led the financing, with significant participation from Fortitude Ventures and other investors. Capital is directed toward the NEXUS robotic spacecraft and multi-orbit servicing operations including repositioning, repair, refuelling, refitting and assembly.
Source - 2025-09-24 - Contract Award - NASA awards Katalyst $30M Swift Observatory rescue contract
The mission calls for an autonomous servicer to approach, capture and reposition the operational telescope into a more stable orbit. Katalyst described an eight-month path from contract award to planned launch, making schedule responsiveness a central programme objective. Swift lacks docking ports and grappling fixtures, so the servicer needs a custom capture mechanism that avoids damaging the telescope’s instruments.
Source - 2025-04-24 - Acquisition - Katalyst Space acquires Atomos Space
Katalyst said it would continue operating Atomos’ 20,000-square-foot Broomfield, Colorado facility. The transaction brought Atomos’ Quark spacecraft, robotics technology and 2024 low-Earth-orbit subsystem heritage into the combined programme. Atomos co-founder Vanessa Clark and other team members joined Katalyst following the acquisition.
