MIPS develops RISC-V processor IP, AI inference platforms and software-first development tools for physical systems that must sense, decide and act under power, latency and safety constraints. Its portfolio spans processor cores, virtual platforms, custom silicon workflows and developer hardware for embedded and edge workloads.
GlobalFoundries completed its acquisition of MIPS in August 2025 and continues to operate it as a standalone business. In September 2026, MIPS launched the Acies, Actus and Aegis developer platforms for inference, event-driven control and safety-critical physical-AI workloads.
