About Shifters
Shifters develops collaborative autonomy for teams of ground robots operating across difficult terrain. Its software combines local perception, navigation and mission coordination so several machines can spread through an area, avoid obstacles and adapt their routes while carrying cameras, communications or other payloads. The architecture is intended to work across different underlying vehicle designs.
An operator assigns the mission at team level, and the autonomy stack distributes movement and task execution across the platforms. Individual robots execute local movement and share useful observations with the group, allowing the fleet to continue when communications are intermittent. Shifters is developing the system for defence, emergency response and hazardous inspection and remains at an early deployment stage.
