About Silicon Labs
Silicon Laboratories was founded in Austin in 1996 and evolved into a fabless semiconductor company focused on low-power wireless connectivity. The portfolio supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Matter, proprietary sub-GHz links and embedded control, backed by software stacks, development kits and device-management services.
Robotics exposure is enabling rather than defining. Silicon Labs parts can provide local control or wireless links inside drones, sensors and industrial equipment, including a sourced microcontroller design-in within current FPV motor-control hardware. The company remains primarily an IoT connectivity supplier, and its agreed acquisition by Texas Instruments is still pending with closing targeted for 2027; ownership therefore remains public and independent until completion.

The project increased the existing Hyderabad footprint by approximately 50% and added laboratories plus operational space. Silicon Labs said its India-based workforce had more than tripled since the site opened in 2020. The hub supports R&D, engineering, product, operations, sales, technical marketing and IT functions.

Completion remains subject to shareholder, antitrust and other regulatory approvals, so Silicon Labs continues as a standalone listed company pending close.
