About Voltava
Voltava was established in December 2025 when Detroit Manufacturing Systems acquired Android Industries and Avancez and combined the three organizations under a new active identity. The group is headquartered in Auburn Hills, is wholly owned by Bruce Smith and operates a multi-site manufacturing network built around complex module assembly, sequencing, tooling and supply-chain management.
The robotics relevance originates in Detroit Manufacturing Systems, which signed a 2025 letter of intent with Ondas subsidiary American Robotics to act as contract manufacturer and supply-chain manager for Optimus and Iron Drone Raider systems in the United States. That programme places Voltava on the production side of autonomy rather than in robot design: it industrializes customer hardware, coordinates inputs and scales assembly. DMS remains a historical alias and event-era identity, while Voltava is the current canonical company.
