Volvo Autonomous Solutions is a Volvo Group business area formed in 2020 to develop and commercialise autonomous transport systems. It targets repetitive material flows on defined routes in mines, quarries, industrial sites, ports and logistics corridors. The offering combines vehicles, connectivity, site design, control software, charging and operational support.

The TA15 and TARA programme explored fleets of small, cabless battery-electric haulers for confined sites, including a transport-as-a-service model. Volvo also develops autonomous solutions around larger production vehicles and on-road logistics.
