About TA15 Autonomous Electric Hauler

TA15 is a purpose-built autonomous electric hauler developed for Volvo Autonomous Solutions' TARA transport concept. The cabless vehicle carries up to 15 tonnes and uses GPS, lidar, radar and other sensors to navigate predefined off-road routes. Multiple TA15 units can be coordinated as a fleet so material flow continues even when one vehicle is unavailable.

Volvo presented TARA as a complete site system, including vehicles, autonomy, charging and operational infrastructure, and described a transport-as-a-service commercial model for confined mines and quarries. Public material establishes the design and service concept but does not show broad series production of TA15 as a separately purchased vehicle. The profile therefore retains development maturity and treats specifications as TA15-specific rather than inheriting figures from later Volvo autonomous haulers.
