About Abi

Abi is a mobile humanoid companion robot developed for aged-care and assisted-living communities. Facial recognition, conversational AI and memory functions allow it to identify residents, retain previous interactions and adapt conversations to individual cues. Its expressive eyes, body movement, speech and multilingual capability support one-to-one interaction and group activities including games, singing and guided movement.

Andromeda Robotics introduces Abi through care-provider contracts covering community planning, staff training and continuing technical support. The robot has been deployed across Australian residential-care homes for wellbeing sessions and individual social visits. The current Genesis Abi generation adds more autonomous movement, improved listening and multilingual interaction, with specialised behaviours for people living with dementia.

    2026-04-17 - Deployment - The updated Abi was co-designed with mecwacare’s clinical and lifestyle teams through a partnership that began in February 2025. The revised robot includes LiDAR navigation, improved audio for older hearing profiles and enhanced eye-level engagement. Its companionship features include up to 90 languages, memory of residents and shared stories, and more responsive real-time conversation.
