Airbound TRT
About
About Airbound TRT
Airbound TRT is a carbon-fibre blended-wing tailsitter built for lightweight delivery routes. It takes off vertically, transitions into wing-borne cruise and returns to a vertical landing, removing the need for a runway. Airbound lists a 1-kilogram payload, about 40 kilometres of range, a 60-kilometre-per-hour cruise speed and a 1.4-metre wingspan for the current aircraft.
Onboard autonomy and precision navigation manage the flight, while the operating concept extends to docking, loading and relaunch at delivery points with little fixed ground equipment. Airbound is developing TRT for healthcare, e-commerce and public-service logistics, with India as the initial operating environment. The aircraft remains in development and commercialisation work toward repeat delivery operations.
