About Barracuda 500
Barracuda 500 is Anduril's autonomous air vehicle for the US Enterprise Test Vehicle prototype programme. A 2024 flight test used a vertical launch cell representing palletised deployment from an airlift aircraft, followed by autonomous navigation, capture of a target coordinate from Lattice and terminal guidance after more than 30 minutes in flight.
The design uses common subsystems, commercial components and limited specialised tooling to support rapid manufacture. Its modular hardware and software architecture is being aligned with Weapon Open System Architecture requirements. The next programme phase covers multiple simultaneous launches, vehicle-to-vehicle communication and collaborative behaviours under Lattice for Mission Autonomy, placing Barracuda 500 at development maturity.
