Vantage 55

Vantage 55 is a 55-metre steel platform designed for persistent maritime awareness and distributed payload operations. Austal specifies crewed, remote and autonomous control modes, a 100-tonne payload allowance and deck capacity for eight twenty-foot-container positions, subject to container-weight limits. Navigation radar, surface-search radar, electro-optical and infrared sensors, and redundant satellite, HF and VHF links form the baseline fit.

The diesel-electric vessel is rated for 25 knots maximum speed, 12 knots at cruise and 6,000 nautical miles of range at that cruising condition. Accommodation begins with two people and can be expanded modularly to fourteen. Mission equipment, communications resilience, crewing posture and autonomy authority are selected for each deployment, allowing the hull to support surveillance, logistics and other naval payloads.
