About CAT-Surveyor
Subsea Tech’s CAT-Surveyor is a three-metre catamaran USV for hydrographic data collection and surveillance in inland, harbour and coastal waters. The 270-kilogram vessel carries up to 80 kilograms, reaches five knots and uses twin 500-watt electric outboard motors. Two lithium-ion batteries provide a stated 12-hour operating period.
A shore operator can drive CAT-Surveyor with a laptop and joystick or assign automatic navigation modes through the control software. Front and rear HD cameras, DGPS and an optional RTK receiver support navigation, while the payload architecture accepts multibeam or side-scan sonar, an imaging sonar, environmental instruments or a deployed mini-ROV. Wi-Fi and a backup radio link connect the craft to its control station within the configured communications range.
