About Earth Rover

Earth Rover is FrodoBots’ internet-controlled sidewalk robot for remote exploration and collection of real-world urban navigation data. A 4G SIM connects the vehicle to a remote driver using a game controller, steering wheel or keyboard, so the operator and robot do not need to be in the same city. Toggleable headlights and weather-oriented tyres support day, night, rain and snow use.

Owners can create time-limited access links, share driving rewards and define local missions as sequences of checkpoints for trained remote drivers. FrodoBots uses the resulting action-labelled journeys in its embodied-AI dataset programme. The rover is teleoperated over the internet; its checkpoint and sharing tools do not make it an autonomous mobile robot.
