About
About Gray Eagle
Gray Eagle is GA-ASI’s long-endurance U.S. Army UAS for reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and tactical strike. It flies for up to 25 hours, reaches 167 KTAS and 29,000 feet, and carries 488 kilograms across its internal and external payload capacity. Supported payloads include electro-optical and infrared sensing with laser designation, synthetic-aperture radar, ground-moving-target indication, communications relay and four Hellfire missiles.
The aircraft uses a 165-horsepower heavy-fuel engine that can operate on jet or diesel fuel. Triple-redundant avionics, redundant flight-control surfaces and automatic takeoff and landing support direct operation by Army field commanders, while line-of-sight TCDL and Ku-band satellite links extend command and data relay. These values belong to the baseline Gray Eagle and are not inherited from the higher-weight Extended Range or 25M derivatives.
