CSD-2A supplies the flexspline, circular spline and wave generator needed to build a strain-wave reduction stage into a customer-designed joint. Seven frame sizes cover ratios from 50:1 to 160:1, with maximum torque ratings spanning 12 to 823 newton-metres. Hollow-shaft diameters range from 11 to 50 millimetres for cables, shafts and services.

The component-set format omits a complete housing and output-bearing assembly, allowing the machine builder to integrate bearings, encoders and structural parts around the reduction mechanism. Its short axial length and low inertia suit compact robot joints, surgical systems, exoskeletons, semiconductor equipment and precision measuring machines. CSD-2A remains distinct from packaged Harmonic Drive gear units and complete actuators that add bearings, housings or motors.
