About HV-100

HV-100 is Harvest Automation’s autonomous robot for moving, spacing and collecting container plants in nurseries and greenhouses. Operators set up a handling task, after which individual robots pick up pots and place them at the required spacing. The platform works alongside nursery crews on indoor and outdoor growing surfaces, including dirt and dust and areas exposed to rain or sprinklers. Harvest’s robots have worked for growers since 2013 in North America and subsequently in Europe and Australia.

A quick-swap rechargeable battery supports four to six hours of work between changes, depending on terrain. The robot handles containers weighing up to 25 pounds and is rated for a peak of 240 pots per hour under ideal conditions. Spacing, collection, consolidation and follow-me functions serve different stages of plant handling. Harvest offers new and used systems, rental arrangements, operator training and service support.

Timeline

  • Harvest Automation closes USD 11.75 million Series C

    2013-10-29 - Funding - Existing investors Life Science Partners, Cultivian, Founder Collective, Entrée Capital and MassVentures participated. HV-100 was being used in commercial nurseries and greenhouses to improve material-handling efficiency. Foley Hoag represented Harvest Automation in the financing transaction.
