ROSbot XL
About
About ROSbot XL
ROSbot XL uses four encoded DC motors and interchangeable standard and mecanum wheels for indoor robot development. An integrated power board manages its 86-watt-hour battery and supplies selectable voltages to the onboard computer and attached sensors.
Compute options include Raspberry Pi 5, NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano and ASUS NUC. A universal mounting plate supports lidar, cameras and robot arms. Husarion offers preconfigured telepresence, autonomy and manipulation packages with ROS 2 reference projects and open-source software.

- Direct Data Driven Natural Gradient Descent for Control
2026-07-03 - Research Publication - This paper introduces a novel direct data-driven control framework based on Natural Gradient Descent (NGD) to design interpretable and robust closed-loop policies without requiring explicit model identification.

2025-05-12 - Research Publication - obotic stacks, Large Language Models, and simulations. It provides out-of-the-box integration with state-of-the-art systems like ROS 2. It also comes with dedicated mechanisms for the embodiment of Agents. These mechanisms have been tested on a physical robot, Husarion ROSBot XL, which was coupled with its digital twin, for rapid prototyping. Furthermore, these mechanisms have been deployed in two simulations: (1) robot arm manipulator and (2) tractor controller. All of these deployments have been evaluated in terms of their control capabilities, effectiveness of embodiment, and perception ability. The proposed framework has been used successfully to build systems with multiple agents. It has demonstrated effectiveness in all the aforementioned tasks. It also enabled identifying and addressing the shortcomings of the generative models used for embodied AI. Comments: 12 pages, 8 figures,
Source - WMINet: A Wheel-Mounted Inertial Learning Approach For Mobile Robot State Estimation
2025-03-17 - Research Publication - ethods to reduce inertial drift: a wheel-mounted approach and driving the mobile robot in periodic trajectories. Additionally, we enforce a wheelbase constraint to further improve positioning performance. To evaluate our proposed approach we recorded using the Rosbot-XL a wheel-mounted initial dataset totaling 190 minutes, which is made publicly available. Our approach demonstrated a 66\% improvement over state-of-the-art approaches. As a consequence, our approach enables navigation in challenging environments and bridges the pure inertial gap. This enables seamless robot navigation using only inertial sensors for short periods.
