Archimedes Drive Synovial Series

Archimedes Drive Synovial Series transmits torque through compound planetary traction contact between smooth steel rollers. The toothless architecture maintains zero backlash, limits wear-driven lost motion and allows micro-slip to protect the reducer during shock or collision loads.

The current 95 mm Synovial reference unit delivers 120 Nm repeated torque at 0.8 kg, with 85% stated efficiency, 19 Nm/arcmin torsional stiffness and reduction ratios from 25:1 to 200:1. IMSystems supplies a configurable component set and an orderable development kit with an R&D housing and optional output encoder.
