KITE
About
About KITE
KITE lifts off and lands vertically, then cruises on its wings to move payloads over longer routes than a typical small multirotor. Its internal bay can support dispatch, drop or winch delivery configurations. Kite Aero specifies a 26.5 kg maximum take-off weight, 2.72 m wingspan and fully electric redundant powertrain. The published range figures assume a 2.5 kg payload, not the aircraft’s 4 kg maximum.
The aircraft is used for medical and remote-area logistics and is supervised through Kite Aero’s AXIOM flight software. Kite Aero reports thousands of flights across present and prior ownership of the platform. Manufacturing of the current KITE began with Sykes Advanced Manufacturing in Geelong in September 2026; the company has not disclosed unit deliveries from that facility.
Timeline
- Kite Aero platform receives Zimbabwe BVLOS delivery approval with Drone Solutions
2026-09-21 - Regulatory - The six-month regulatory review covered the aircraft, operating manuals, risk assessment, airspace integration and live flight demonstrations conducted in August 2026. The approval enables a move from trials toward daily commercial delivery, initially targeting medical and pathology logistics; it does not by itself prove daily operations have started. Kite Aero reports that AXIOM’s safety dataset covers more than 41,000 autonomous flights and 20,000 flight hours.

2026-09-16 - Production Milestone - The facility brings composite production, large-format additive manufacturing and five-axis machining to the aircraft programme. Kite Aero reports a pipeline of more than 100 aircraft and over 2,000 flights under its ownership. The disclosure confirms production has started, not a disclosed shipment volume.
