Honey Badger 4.0
About
About Honey Badger 4.0
MAB Robotics’ Honey Badger 4.0 is a compact quadruped platform for inspection, research and sensor carriage across uneven or water-affected terrain. The 12-kilogram robot measures 60 by 40 centimetres, with height varying from 15 to 50 centimetres as its legs move. It carries up to four kilograms and is available with ingress protection to IP67 for dust and water exposure.
Published runtime reaches two hours, with 5G, Wi-Fi or optical-fibre communication and control from a PC or remote controller. Its modular body accepts mission-specific sensors and tools, while MAB has demonstrated locomotion on land and underwater. Honey Badger 4.0 sales have ended following the release of version 5.0, although existing units remain supported during their warranty periods. That lifecycle distinction prevents current 5.0 capabilities from being applied to this record.

- MAB Robotics demonstrates underwater locomotion with Honey Badger 4.0 quadruped
2024-10-21 - Demonstration - MAB Robotics demonstrated Honey Badger 4.0 walking underwater as an extension of the quadruped's inspection capability in extreme environments. The company positioned the robot for underground infrastructure, waterlogged terrain, sewer, tunnel, and maintenance applications. The demonstration highlighted the platform's sealed actuator design, IP67-rated construction, and ability to transition between land and submerged operation.
