About SPUR Mini
SPUR Mini is QinetiQ's smallest ground robot, sized for a cargo pocket or hip pouch and designed for rapid reconnaissance in tight spaces. The current specification gives a 2.92 kg vehicle measuring 280 × 230 × 125 mm. It can be thrown up to 5.48 m, climb a 14 cm curb and traverse tall grass, sand, gravel and loose rock when fitted with the optional track kit.
The robot drives at up to 5.6 km/h and runs for as much as two hours continuously or three hours intermittently. Visible and forward thermal cameras provide video up to 1080p, while adjustable illuminators support dark interiors. QinetiQ specifies a line-of-sight range up to 500 m through the supported communications module. An additional payload port allows mission accessories, and SPUR Mini can operate as a radio repeater for larger robots.
