EXOBACK

EXOBACK is RB3D’s powered back-assistance exoskeleton for manual handling and work involving repeated bending. An electric cable actuator supplies adjustable assistance through attachments at the shoulders, waist and thighs. Double-pivot hip joints accommodate changes in posture while the wearer moves and handles loads.

A control wheel with an integrated mode button lets the wearer adjust assistance, and an indicator displays the device’s operating state. The battery is rated for nine hours using RB3D’s reference workload of four bends per minute. Adjustable fitting accommodates users from 150 to 195 centimetres tall, and the system also supports smartphone connectivity.
