Double Eagle Family

Double Eagle Family is Saab's modular underwater-vehicle range for naval mine detection, classification and neutralisation. MDS is a tether-powered disposal ROV, SAROV combines tethered ROV operation with battery-powered autonomous missions, and MuMNS carries as many as three neutralisation charges to reduce repeated launch and recovery cycles.

The three vehicles have distinct limits. MDS weighs 360 kilograms and operates to 500 metres at up to six knots; SAROV weighs 730 kilograms and operates to 300 metres at up to six knots; a fully loaded MuMNS weighs 415 kilograms and operates to 300 metres at up to four knots. Saab reports more than 70 Double Eagle vehicles delivered, with systems deployable from ships, shore or craft of opportunity.
