About ApusDuo
ApusDuo is UAVOS’s solar-powered high-altitude pseudo-satellite, built around a 15-metre tandem-wing airframe with a 43-kilogram maximum takeoff mass. Solar cells charge onboard batteries during daylight for overnight flight, supporting operation around 20,000 metres above conventional air traffic and most weather.
The aircraft carries payloads up to two kilograms for communications, Earth observation, weather monitoring, security and disaster-response missions. UAVOS describes endurance measured in months under the stratospheric energy concept. The programme has flown demonstrators and now sits within Mira Aerospace as a continuing high-altitude development programme.
