About Northstar

Northstar is UMA’s development-stage humanoid concept for manipulation and mobility in factories, logistics facilities and other spaces built around people. Its design combines a mobile body with hands capable of handling tools and interacting with existing equipment.

UMA is developing the robot alongside large-scale AI, reinforcement-learning, simulation and data infrastructure. The company plans pilot programmes in logistics and manufacturing during 2026 and is building Version 0 as its first integrated AI, software and hardware prototype.
