About Sonar 3D-15
Sonar 3D-15 generates a complete three-dimensional acoustic image with each ping, providing real-time perception in turbid or dark water. Its 1.2-megahertz mode covers a 90-by-40-degree field over distances reaching 15 metres, while a higher-frequency mode provides finer short-range detail.
The compact sensor weighs 660 grams in air and is rated to 300 metres. Ethernet communication, a browser-based interface and an API provide live visualisation and point-cloud integration. Applications include obstacle avoidance, autonomous navigation and object recognition on small ROVs and AUVs.
