DEUX 1.0

About

About DEUX 1.0

DEUX 1.0 is XYZ's dual-arm mobile manipulator for indoor service work. Its mobile configuration combines two seven-axis arms, two three-finger hands with seven degrees of freedom each, a vertical lift and a swerve-drive base. XYZ pairs the robot with BrainX behaviour models and Glove X, a wearable device for collecting human task data matched to DEUX. The company targets stores, offices, hospitals and homes.

XYZ unveiled DEUX 1.0 in April 2026 and began commercial-store pilots in July. Its product page lists separate DEUX and Mobile DEUX preorder packages, including BrainX and one task-modeling cycle; NVIDIA Thor compute is optional and sold separately. The mobile specification lists a 900–1,550 mm height range, 60 kg combined weight and 5.5 kg single-arm payload. Public developer assets provide whole-robot and separate hand models, meshes and RViz launch configurations for ROS 2.

Timeline

  • XYZ details DEUX motor-current-based impedance control

2026-09-18 - Capability - DEUX infers contact force from motor current rather than relying on separate joint torque sensors. Local motor-side control is intended to reduce communication-delay effects during physical contact and manipulation. XYZ is still developing dynamic impedance control that varies joint stiffness across approach, contact and manipulation phases.
