About Canopii
Canopii develops compact autonomous greenhouses for growing produce close to the point of sale. Its modular controlled-environment farms combine robotics, climate control and crop-management systems to reduce dependence on outdoor weather, available land and repetitive agricultural labour.
The company designs each greenhouse around the minimum scale at which seed-to-harvest automation is economically useful. Growing conditions, irrigation and production work are managed within the enclosed system, allowing sites to serve nearby demand and shorten distribution. Canopii targets organic specialty crops and provides the integrated farm infrastructure rather than selling a standalone harvesting robot.

- 2026-03-11 - Capability - Canopii reaches fully autonomous seed-to-harvest greenhouse milestone
The March 2026 TechCrunch story highlighted that Canopii had reached a major milestone with an autonomous farm that grows from seed to harvest without human intervention. The company said its robotic greenhouse can produce up to 40,000 pounds of herbs and leafy greens per year while using a single water spigot and household-scale power. The article also said Canopii planned to build its first commercial farm in downtown Portland after reaching the automation milestone.
Source - 2025-04-17 - Regulatory - Canopii receives organic certification from CCOF
CCOF lists Canopii as certified for crops, handling, and USDA National Organic Program status effective April 17, 2025. The certification adds a real operational milestone for Canopii's greenhouse produce business rather than a pure technology announcement. The listing ties Canopii's robotic greenhouse system to certified organic production workflows.

Business Oregon named Canopii as one of the 2024 SBIR/STTR Matching Grant recipients. The release says Canopii received the award for commercial scaling of its fully automated greenhouse farm. The announcement places Canopii among Oregon companies using matched federal innovation funding to move toward commercialization.
