About Bracket Bot

Bracket Bot is developing an affordable general-purpose robot and software development platform for programmers, students and robotics teams. The project began around an open-source kit designed to make capable mobile hardware accessible at roughly consumer-electronics prices. A new developer system is available for pre-order, while the team remains small and the product has not yet reached broad commercial availability.

Earlier kits have supported rapid experiments in teleoperation, perception and autonomous movement. At a University of Waterloo hackathon, teams used the platform for projects including VR-controlled navigation with live video, computer-vision games and food delivery with object recognition and a mechanical gripper. These projects demonstrate the kit as a modular base for integrating sensors, software and task-specific mechanisms; the current generation is still moving from developer prototypes toward a shipped product.
