About Blueye Robotics
Blueye Robotics develops portable underwater remotely operated vehicles for inspection, search and rescue, aquaculture, maritime security and scientific work. Its Pioneer, Pro and X3 vehicles carry high-definition cameras and lighting in compact tethered platforms that one team can transport and deploy from shore or a small vessel.
The Blueye application controls piloting, recording and mission review, while accessories add sonar, manipulators, water-quality instruments and positioning. X3 provides multiple external ports for simultaneous payload integration and supports Water Linked DVL equipment for station keeping and navigation. Blueye manufactures the systems in Trondheim and provides training, service and a partner ecosystem for professional operations.

A Blueye X3 fitted with Sonar 3D-15 mapped ladders, pipes and moving underwater vehicles in the test basin. The live system tracked another Blueye X3 and a BlueROV while displaying Sonar 3D-15 visualisations on a laptop. Attendees also used immersive three-dimensional goggles, combining optical and acoustic views for underwater situational awareness.

The crew uses the Blueye X3 for hull inspections, ship-damage checks and work on vessels with propellers fouled by fishing nets. The ROV has supported a 100-metre recovery operation and reduces the need to send divers into dangerous or time-sensitive underwater situations. Blueye says multiple crew members are trained pilots, with four or five qualified on one shift and another operator team on the other shift so the system can be deployed at sea or in port.
