About Rakuten Group
Rakuten Group operates a broad digital-services business spanning e-commerce, fintech, mobile communications and online services. Its robotics exposure sits within Rakuten Drone, which provides unmanned-delivery operations for retailers and local communities using autonomous ground robots and aircraft.
The ground service combines ordering, store inventory, loading support, fleet supervision and last-mile delivery through a single operating workflow. Rakuten has progressed from trials to recurring public service in Japanese neighbourhoods, including Harumi and Toyosu in Tokyo. Robotics remains a defined operating programme within a diversified public group rather than the group’s primary business.
