About RSI
Robotic Systems Integration, known as RSI, develops motion-control technology for machine builders. Its RMP software runs on an industrial PC and coordinates the motor drives and other devices that move a machine. Engineers use its programming interfaces to build the machine's control application.
RMP communicates with hardware over EtherCAT and can be integrated with a machine's user interface, vision system and application logic. RSI also supplies industrial computers and engineering support, helping customers select hardware and implement the control system as part of their own machine design.
Deployments
- Operating use
RSI reports returning four customer-owned ABB painting robots to production at Global Skyware through a controller retrofit. The December 2018 case describes recipe-based painting and conveyor tracking at the North Carolina operation. - Global Skyware ABB painting robots retrofitted by RSI - North Carolina operation

Events
- 2026-09-14 - Capability - RSI releases ros2_control integration for RMP and MoveIt
A six-axis, 5 kg-payload Huayan Elfin5 drew SVG-derived recipes and followed user strokes from a mouse or drawing tablet. MoveIt 2 and ros2_control plan trajectories while RMP executes motion on an isolated CPU core of the same PC. The passthrough trajectory controller and RapidCode hardware interface are available under Apache 2.0.
Source - 2026-08-07 - Capability - RSI adds EtherCAT sync groups and Linux EoE support
Linux gained Ethernet-over-EtherCAT support. MotionController gained support for multiple local RMP instances. Configuration files can carry controller creation parameters through rsiconfig.
Source - 2026-07-04 - Capability - RSI adds native Rocky Linux and RHEL 10 packages for RMP
The x86-64 package supports Rocky Linux 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. RapidCode provides C++, C# and Python interfaces. Linux operation requires a PREEMPT_RT kernel for deterministic EtherCAT cycles.
Source - 2025-03-26 - Capability - RSI confirms fully supported RMP motion control on Linux
PREEMPT_RT and an isolated processor core underpin real-time execution. Debian, Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi OS support covers x86-64 and ARM hardware. RapidCode retains C++, C# and Python interfaces across Windows and Linux.
