About Honda Robotics
Honda Robotics develops assistive and task-specific robot technology from research established through the ASIMO programme.
ASIMO work contributed biped locomotion, balance, human-environment operation and fall-safety research. Honda now applies that technical base across robots with narrower functions intended to support people in particular situations. The current strategy distributes assistance across task-specific systems; individual robots therefore need their own evidence for availability, capability and operating context.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-10-21 - Product Launch - Honda UNI-ONE gains HoloLab corporate adoption and XR development service
The service includes trial rides and demonstrations combining UNI-ONE with AR glasses. HoloLab offers planning and development of XR experiences linked to the mobility robot. Target settings include commercial venues, tourism sites, museums, exhibitions and theme parks.
Source - 2026-10-05 - Demonstration - Honda announces Avatar Robot demonstration for CEATEC 2026
The exhibit was scheduled for October 13–16 at Makuhari Messe under Honda's Innovation Lab – Missing Piece booth concept. The planned demonstration pairs a multi-fingered robotic hand with AI motion assistance for a remote human operator. Honda identifies healthcare, facility maintenance, disaster response and space development as target applications for the technology.
Source - 2026-10-01 - Partnership - Honda and Redwire explore robotic manipulation for future commercial space stations
The hand combines actively controlled joints with force and tactile sensing across fingertips and palm. The proposed workflow covers sample handling, materials transfer and laboratory-equipment operation. The companies plan discussions with station developers at the October 5–9 International Astronautical Congress in Antalya.
Source - 2025-01-08 - Product Launch - Honda introduces ASIMO OS for Honda 0 Series vehicles
Honda introduced ASIMO OS as its original vehicle operating system for Honda 0 Series models. Honda said the OS draws on ASIMO robotics technologies including external-environment recognition and autonomous behavior control. The event connects Honda’s robotics R&D lineage to a current software-defined mobility platform.
