About Andromeda Robotics
Andromeda develops Abi with aged-care providers around the routines of residents and care staff. The robot can lead group activities or spend time in one-to-one conversations, using remembered names, interests and earlier interactions to make subsequent engagement more personal.
Genesis Abi adds stronger autonomous movement, multilingual listening and features developed for people living with dementia. Andromeda supplies the robot as a supported service within care organisations, including staff onboarding and continuing software development. Commercial deployments include all 22 mecwacare homes, moving Abi beyond isolated research trials while keeping the robot in a social-support rather than clinical-care role.

The updated Abi was co-designed with mecwacare’s clinical and lifestyle teams through a partnership that began in February 2025. The revised robot includes LiDAR navigation, improved audio for older hearing profiles and enhanced eye-level engagement. Its companionship features include up to 90 languages, memory of residents and shared stories, and more responsive real-time conversation.
