About
About AstraQua
AstraQua develops a modular intelligence architecture for autonomous machines operating with limited power, computing resources or connectivity. Its Adaptive Quorum Foundation Model, AQFM, is a shared software foundation in development that brings together perception, reasoning, system health and coordination. Specialized agents contribute to mission decisions and task allocation across different robots, while the company’s AstraSense technology estimates machine health and remaining operational capability.
The company has operations in California and Kentucky. Its NASA-backed AstraSense programme focuses on electric and hybrid-electric aircraft, including advanced air mobility. Following Phase I diagnostics and predictive-health demonstrations, Phase II work advances aircraft integration, health-informed reasoning and verification for safety-critical applications. Broader mixed-robot coordination remains application-specific development: the architecture is intended to help machines adapt their tasks when an individual vehicle’s condition changes.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-10-07 - Contract Award - AstraQua secures $1.275m NASA Phase II contract for AstraSense
The work builds on Phase I real-time diagnostics and predictive-health demonstrations to NASA. Phase II advances aircraft integration, health-informed reasoning, and verification and validation for safety-critical applications. AstraSense feeds machine-health information into AstraQua’s broader low-power onboard reasoning and robot-coordination architecture.
Source - 2026-07-30 - Award - AstraQua receives Kentucky SBIR/STTR matching support for AstraSense
The support backs AstraSense development to detect degradation and predict failures in high-voltage, high-noise systems. The programme supports Kentucky businesses and companies committed to relocating; AstraQua was described as relocating from California.
Source - 2026-07-21 - Capability - AstraQua selected for NASA Phase II contract negotiation
Proposal A1.11-1015 targets embedded-prototype integration, hardware-in-the-loop tests and representative propulsion testing. The planned development path advances from TRL4 to TRL6.
Source - 2026-03-27 - Capability - AstraQua completes NASA Phase I work on AstraSense
The performance period ran from September29,2025 through March27,2026. The effort established a diagnostics and prognosis baseline for electrified-aircraft systems and supported a subsequent Phase II proposal.
