About Fusion Processing
Founded in Bristol in 2012, Fusion Processing is an autonomy-stack developer and vehicle integrator rather than a vehicle manufacturer. CAVstar combines sensor processing, localisation, path planning, actuation control and remote supervision in a configurable system for public transport and commercial vehicles.
The company has applied the stack to full-size buses, depot automation and public-road autonomous services, working with vehicle OEMs and operators to add redundant control and no-user-in-charge capability. The Connector programme will upgrade an existing Enviro100AEV and add a larger Enviro200AEV, moving the Cambridge bus deployment toward full SAE Level 4 operation and a repeatable commercial package.

An existing Enviro100AEV will receive dual-redundant actuation for no-user-in-charge operation. A larger Level 4 Enviro200AEV will be added to the Connector fleet. The programme advances an existing public-road service toward a repeatable commercial vehicle and autonomy package.

The bus pairs Alexander Dennis’s Enviro100 platform with Fusion Processing’s CAVstar automated-driving system. Track testing was scheduled to calibrate the autonomy stack before transfer to Cambridge and safety-driver training. The planned public service at Cambridge Biomedical Campus remained a later deployment step, not an accomplished result at unveiling.
