About GelSight

GelSight turns contact with a soft elastomeric surface into high-resolution images and three-dimensional measurements. GelSight Mini packages that approach as a compact USB tactile sensor for robot manipulation research, while the company’s handheld Mobile systems measure surface features such as scratches, dents, corrosion and roughness directly on parts.

The Waltham-based company sells both robotics sensors and portable metrology instruments, with replaceable gels, software for capture and analysis, and integration resources for commercial and research users. Its technology is an enabling sensing layer: the sensor measures contact geometry and surface condition, while grasping, inspection decisions and robot motion remain functions of the connected system.
